Here’s part two of my interview with David Moritz, originally recorded during Editors Retreat 2015. David’s work began after he started as a music editor and transitioned to editor under the mentorship of Richard Marks. He began working with Wes Anderson when Wes directed his first feature, Bottle Rocket. Since then his career has taken off and he’s become one of the top editors and fixers in the industry.

I sat down with David Moritz in Daytona, Florida, during the 2015 Editors Retreat. He had talked about his work with the group the previous day, and the two of us sat down for an interview on the beach overlooking the ocean. We talked for over an hour and because of this I’ve broken it into 3 parts. What you are listening to is part one.

In the early 1900's, the Autochrome photographic production process utilized an additive colour process on glass plates, the procedure used coloured potato starch as a grain layer and created fantastic image results that give the impression of being a painting. Aotg.com investigates this early process through a discussion with John Wood, author of The Art of the Autochrome: The Birth of Colour Photography.
