Luiz Kruel, Senior Technical Artist at Side Effects, presented at GDC 2018 a proposal for a conversion pipeline of 3D scans made by photogrammetry into video game assets. The idea: to replace the tedious steps listed in the image above, which often mix very different tools, by a pipeline centered on Houdini, by automating the work as much as possible.
