The role of Digital Compositing in Post Production
Saturday Oct. 24 at NMSU, join VFX Supervisor Aaron Estrada and Sr. Motion Graphics Designer Josh Goble in an exploration of Digital Compositing and its role in post production.
You may already know that digital compositing is one of the cornerstones of VFX and C.G. animation. But did you know it’s also very handy for editors and non-animation folks?
In this special workshop we will cover several topics including:
What is Digital Compositing? We explore the evergreen fundamentals of digital compositing and how they translate across all compositing systems.
What tools are available? What should you learn? We will provide a quick introduction to the most popular compositing programs and demonstrate the differences and similarities between After Effects, Nuke and Fusion software.
How is compositing useful to practitioners of other picture post specialties like editing or computer animation? We will show how you can do simple “VFX†yourself and also enhance your color correction tool set using compositing techniques.
Compositing jobs in the competitive media landscape. Learn where the jobs are, what the requisite skills are, what recruiters and hiring managers are looking for, and how to present yourself. (What to put in a Demo Reel)
Resources to get you started. What software can you use to learn? What training is available?
