It is with a heavy heart that we announce we will no longer be updating Aotg.com. Back in 2007, when we started, there was a lack of access to information about film, television, and commercial editing. We wanted to fix that by creating a central location for content about editing to be stored.
Since then, we've watched the amount of content about editing on the internet grow exponentially. We've also watched social media tools come and go with that growth. Does anyone remember Google Wave!? These social media tools changed how people access and search for media and information. People tend to turn to Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, and Instagram for their news and information, and those are all great tools to promote your sites, but as a site that aggregates links to other sites for users, it just doesn't work for us.
We will keep the site live but archive the ability to add links and comments. We will keep our database live with the links for those who desire to use it to search for editing information and research.
Our podcast, The Cutting Room, will move over to the Filmmakeru.com website and will continue to be a place for interviews with editors and other film professionals.
Everyone who worked for Aotg.com loved what we created and are proud that we could help so many editors find content that spoke to them.
I look forward to seeing everyone at the various post events worldwide in the coming years!

Blackmagic Design today announced that Adelaide based Hartstone-Kitney Productions (HKP) has created Black Box Live, a new live theater streaming service, using Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K cameras, ATEM Mini Extreme ISO switchers and DaVinci Resolve Studio. With the launch of the service, HKP’s Black Box Live has streamed 52 shows during the 2021 Adelaide, Edinburgh and Hollywood Fringe Festivals as part of the world’s largest live theater streaming event.

Blackmagic Design today announced that HiViz LED Lighting is building a new production studio using Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Pro and Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Plus live production cameras. The innovative lighting technology company is also using an ATEM Mini Extreme ISO live production switcher for multi camera switching and live editing as it develops original content for the fire and emergency service industries.

Blackmagic Design today announced that “Jakob’s Wife,” one of the most talked about horror films of the year and a new Shudder Exclusive, was completed using DaVinci Resolve Studio and Pocket Cinema Camera 4Ks. The film joins dozens of other Shudder films and series that were created using Blackmagic Design products, including releases “Bleed With Me,” “Teddy” and “Cleansing Hour.”

Blackmagic Design today announced that “Jason Rising,” a hugely popular fan fiction film based on the Friday the 13th world, was shot using multiple Pocket Cinema Camera 4Ks and graded on DaVinci Resolve Studio. Shot on a micro budget, the film has been viewed more than 300,000 times by viewers all over the world in only three weeks of its release.

Blackmagic Design today announced that Los Angeles based production studio Corridor Digital is using DaVinci Resolve Studio for editing, color grading, visual effects (VFX) and audio post production for its popular YouTube channels, Corridor Digital and Corridor Crew. With almost 15 million subscribers between the two channels, Corridor Digital uses DaVinci Resolve Studio and its collaboration features to produce up to 10 videos a month for its fans.

Blackmagic Design today announced that Colvin Theatrical completed the filming and post production of 11 community theater plays as part of the upcoming AACTFest 2021 using Pocket Cinema Camera 6Ks and DaVinci Resolve Studio. The project was completed as part of Colvin Theatrical’s Theatrical Multicam, a new service aimed at providing cinematic video and streaming for live theater organizations worldwide based around Blackmagic Design products.

Blackmagic Design today announced that “What Drives Us,” the new documentary by David Grohl of the Foo Fighters, was shot using a variety of Blackmagic Design cameras. This included using URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 and Pocket Cinema Camera 4K to capture interviews with some of rock’s biggest icons, including Ringo Star, Steven Tyler, Ben Harper, The Edge and Slash. The documentary also used DaVinci Resolve Studio to edit and grade the film.
